Pour avoir tourné avec Jimmy Woode (Duke Ellington, Sarah Vaughan etc.) plusieurs années je peux témoigner de l'absence totale de protection sociale ou retraite pour des musiciens qui ont participé à écrire l'histoire de cette musique. Cette fondation leur vient en aide pour leur eviter de devenir SDF dans les dernieres années de leur vie, celles ou ils ont le plus besoin de soutien.
